Safdarjung Airport
Safdarjüng Airport (IATA: N/AICAO: VIDD) is an airport in New Delhi, India, in the neighbourhood of the same name. It is home to the Delhi Flying Club. It used to be known as Willingdon Airfield and served as Delhi's main airport before the construction of the Indira Gandhi International Airport at Pälam. It is still used for general aviation purposes and small propeller planes take off and land from the airport. However, planes are cautioned when landing, since the airport is situated right next to a flyover highway. Indira Gandhi International Airport is the current airport serving New Delhi; a significantly larger airport with multiple runways and over sixty domestic and international carriers serving it.
